Description
Osprey’s are one of my favorite birds. I am fortunate to follow several nests, this one being a famous nest at Castle Junction. It was the last year there were chicks in this nest, as it has been vacant the last 2 years. This is an Osprey chick, the last one to leave the nest. After several practice flights, she settled into the nest. The one lesson I have learned from photography is patience. The weather does not always cooperate, and the subject matter never poses, but if you watch and wait, opportunities arise. It is all about the moment. This moment was a stare down as this young chick saw me and looked to check me out. That moment…wind blowing, feathers ruffled, beautiful eye contact and one shot. Life is grand when you get moments like this with wildlife.
